GLEANING THE CUBE: AN INTREPID MEDIA/TECHJOURNAL SOUTH BOOK | |
CHAPEL HILL, NC -- Intrepid Media, an online community of ridiculously talented people, and TechJorunal South, the scourge of deadweight executives across the Southeast, have invented an excuse to write a press release. The two companies, armed with a bit of money and a keg of ego, have announced a partnership to produce a series of books - real books, not eBooks or audiobooks or Powerbooks - that focus on technology and corporate lifestyle.
The first title, Gleaning The Cube, a corporate guidebook built around a collection of columns by Intrepid Media publisher, TechJournal South columnist, and zeppelin enthusiast Joe Procopio, will be bolstered by new, exclusive, and potentially libelous material, all of which was hastily written on a Treo during project status meetings, sales presentations, and while driving at high speeds to and from various client sites.
"Books are the new new thing," said Procopio.
TechJournal South will co-present the book as an attempt to wrangle invites to bigger and better parties.
"The net-net of these strategic integration points are win-win," said Techjournal South publisher Eric Gregg, "We're going to capitalize on the synergy of snark and tech to symbiotically produce a consolidated forward-looking framework that will not only roll up late-stage tactical benefits, but also boil the ocean to get a holistic picture of best-of-breed, open-source eNalysis. We'll also tell you who moved your cheese."
Gleaning The Cube will be available in late 2006.

I am pumped! Thrilled! Overjoyed! This book will be, as the kids say today, "the bomb!" When I first met Joe Procopio, and he pitched me the idea of the investing in a book that would be the ULTIMATE GUIDE TO BUSINESS SUCCESS, I was, of course, skeptical. But then I thought to myself; what's the first rule of succeeding in business? Spending other people's money. And here was this kid right in front of me asking for my money to spend. He obviously knows his stuff! I just hope he doesn't try to make it funny. I'm not a big fan.
